The Moroccan Ministry of Justice has decided to nominate a new rabbinical judge in Agadir in order to encourage the return to that city of hundreds of Jewish families who were forced to leave when the city was leveled in an earthquake last year. Rabbi Chaim Elferchi is under consideration for the post. A small Jewish community has already been re-established there.
In Rabat, meanwhile, the appointment was announced of Jo Ahana, a Jew, as Chief of Cabinet for the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. M.
