The candidacy of Mortimer May of Nashville for the presidency of the Zionist Organization of America was announced today following a meeting of sixty leaders of the organization, who gathered here to exchange views on the forthcoming 57th annual national convention and the future program of the ZOA. Mr. May’s candidacy was unanimously endorsed by the meeting, in which ZOA regional and district leaders participated.
Mr. May formerly served as chairman of the national executive committee of the ZOA and as its vice-president. He is also a member of the Actions Committee of the World Zionist Organization.
