Two Israeli films were enthusiastically received by Moscow audiences during the recent film festival in the Soviet capital, which was attended by an Israeli delegation of film producers and actors, led by Hannah Rovina, Russian-born Habimah actress, it was reported here today from Moscow.
The Israeli offerings were a documentary, “Hakibbutz,” and a comedy, “Mothers, Beward of Tourists,” produced and directed by Peter Fry. The personal appearances of the young Israeli film actors were also enthusiastically received.
Miss Rovina, who left Russia with the Habimah group 37 years ago, was given a cordial welcome by the Soviet and foreign artists attending the festival. A reception in her honor was given by Yuri Zaslavsky, the famous Soviet theatrical producer. During her stay in Moscow, Miss Rovina expressed the wish to come to Russia with the Habimah group to offer some Hebrew plays in the large Soviet centers.
