The Soviet armed forces newspaper “Red Star” today denounced Israeli rocket research, stating that Israel’s test rocket firing was part of a campaign of intimidation against the Arabs.
The Red Army newspaper, published in Moscow, charged the rocket firing was designed also “to raise the flagging spirits of the Israeli population which is disillusioned with the policy of Ben-Gurion’s Government.” A Soviet allegation was made that the rocket fired in Israel was timed to coincide with the campaigning for the August Israeli elections.
