Chaim Nachman Bialik, Hebrew poet laureate, was attacked today in Emess, Moscow Yiddish Communist daily, as a reactionary nationalist whose “road led toward Hitlerism.” The paper paid tribute to Bialik’s powers of expression as a Hebrew poet.

Bialik’s poems, “Schechitato” and “Masonnemirov,” the paper said, expressed “the profoundest reactionary idealogy of the Jewish national bourgeoise.” Later, Emess declared, Bialik became the active leader of the Jewish Fascist counter-revolution and headed the dollar inquisition agitation and became the central figure of Jewish Fascism.”
