Moscow Still Opposed to Zionism; Says All Members of Israeli Cabinet Are “zionists”

No attention whatsoever is being paid in the Soviet ###ess to the aeries of announcements by various governments during the last few days ###t they have recognized Israel. Although the Soviet Union was the first to grant ## jure recognition to Israel, a distinction is being made here between Zionism and ###e establishment of the Jewish state.

While Soviet newspapers do not comment on the recognition announcements, the ### of the Soviet Government with regard to Zionism are not “being concealed. They ##re recently restated in a pamphlet on the Palestine problem, 150,000 copies of which ###re circulated. In the pamphlet Zionism is defined as “a reactionary and anti-demo-###atic trend of the Jewish bourgeoisie” used by Britain under the Palestine Mandate to ###t a special colonial regime in Palestine, The pamphlet claims that Zionism, ##ong with the Arab uppercuts, is striving to help carve up Palestine into British ##d American spheres of influence.

The pamphlet asserts that the members of the Israeli Cabinet are all affiliated ##th Zionism, which “attempts to distract Jewish workers from the class struggle.” ### says that Jewish workers “outside of the Zionist organization” are united in the ##st Party in Israel and support a program demanding that the Jewish state conclude a “friendship pact with the Soviet Union and with the countries of the new ##cracies.”
