Radio Moscow is beaming Arabic broadcasts to the Near East attacking Moshe Dayan, former Israel Chief of Staff, and backing the Arab position against Israel rights to transit the Suez Canal.
“Everyone knows that all this shouting about the freedom of navigation is the old method to which the Israelis have so frequently turned in order to justify their wishes and greed with respect to the Arabs,” the Moscow Radio said today.
The broadcast linked recent statements by Gen. Dayan with an alleged recent trip by Israel Director General of Defense Shimon Peres “to set up military contacts with Bonn.” According to the Russian propaganda, Gen. Dayan desires action because Arab unity is growing. American flirtation with the United Arab Republic is a “weak point” in Arab unity, the Moscow broadcast asserted.
