The Moscow Yiddish State Theatre, which is now playing in Belgium, has received much praise in the general press. The troupe was also well received in Antwerp and Brussels. An invitation to visit Holland has been received by Mr. Granovsky, the head of the company.
A part of the survey being made of the religious affiliations of Governor Smith’s appointees and the subordinates in his administration was made public by Secretary of State Robert Moses. The survey shows ten Protestants, three Catholics and a Jew in the Governor’s Cabinet of fourteen fully accredited members, and fourteen Protestants with eleven Catholics among the twenty-five other major officials at the head of State departmental divisions.
The other present State officials now in office, whose appointments are approved by the Governor, not including judicial appointments, includes thirty-three Catholics, 105 Protestants, eleven of Jewish descent and seven undesignated.
