The four Moslem members of the Baghdad Pact will make a strong effort to secure action by the North Atlantic Treaty Organization at its Paris meeting this week-end for settlement of the Palestine problem on the basis of the United Nations partition plan of 1947, it was indicated today.
A communique issued here following the close last night of the two-day meeting of the four powers–Turkey, Pakistan, Iran and Iraq dealt with the Palestine situation. It pointed out that “it was agreed that the fact that the Palestine problem has not been solved in accordance with United Nations resolutions and with justice and equity is one of the main reasons of the present instability in the Middle East.”
The communique stressed that full agreement had been reached by the four countries on “mutual problems.” Turkish Premier Adnan Menderes, who will attend the NATO sessions in Paris, will report the group’s views to the parley, the communique declared.
