Most L.A. Jews voted against same-sex ban Los Angeles Jews voted overwhelmingly against a California constitutional amendment to ban same-sex marriages and for Barack Obama, according to an exit poll.
California voters approved the proposition, 52-48 percent.
Los Angeles Jewish voters gave Obama 78 percent to 20 percent for Republican John McCain. The president-elect’s Jewish numbers in Los Angeles matched the percentage nationwide.
Among all Los Angeles voters, 72 percent voted for Obama and 24 percent for McCain.
The survey of voters, who filled out a self-administered survey, had a margin of error of plus or minus 2.05 percent. It was conducted by the Leavey Center for the Study of Los Angeles at Loyola Marymount University.
