Nearly 75 percent of the West Bank highschool students who took the matriculation examinations this year passed them, it was reported today. The passing number, 4,350, was slightly less than the 4,584 who succeeded last year but this year’s percentage–73,4–was slightly higher. The examinations are identical with those given in Jordan and passing grades are recognized in that country. A majority of the students are majoring in the humanities, the rest in scientific subjects.
