The pipe lines carrying oil from the Mosul fields will definitely be laid to the future port of Palestine, Haifa, it is reported today by the Arab newspaper “Al Carmel.”
The paper declares that the government has already assigned land for the location of the oil tanks between the River Koshon and the Wadi Saleman Tel Abubawam. The trea is one kilometer long and half a kilometer wide.
The Turkish Petroleum Company has purchased a thousand dunam site for a reservoir and distillery. The Vacuum Oil, the Shell Oil and other companies have acquired land for this purpose. It is expected that when the line is completed Haifa, as an oil center will be of greater importance to the oil industry than Batum, the famous Russian oil center.
