The World Zionist Organization is making substantial headway in recruiting new members, especially in the 25-45 age group, according to Abraham Shenker, head of the Jewish Agency’s absorption department. Mr. Shenker, returning from a three month visit to North and South America and Europe, predicted that the movement will have a membership of one million by the time it elects delegates to the next Zionist Congress. He claimed there was mounting interest in Israel and Zionism among younger people, including Jewish youth of the New Left who, he concluded, are convinced. It has become a tool against Israel and Jews and are therefore joining the Zionist Organization.
