The movement from the towns to the older Jewish colonies of Palestine has been very pronounced among the pioneer laborers, showing an increase from 800 to 2,500 from 1924 to 1925, and from 2,500 to 4,500 from 1925 to 1926.
The Labor Department of the Palestine Zionist Executive has helped this movement by assisting the workers to obtain plots in the villages for their homes and vegetable gardens, and by granting them loans for barracks, tools, and equipment.
