Mr. and Mrs. Aaron Blumenthal of the Hotel Breakers, residents of this city since 1902, today celebrate the seventy-fifth anniversary of their marriage.
As for many years past, a congratulatory message was received from the White House. This was unchanged by the fact that President Roosevelt is a Democrat, whereas Mr. Blumenthal has been a life-long Republican and cast his first vote for Abraham Lincoln.
Mr. Blumenthal is past 98, and his wife is somewhat younger. They were married in 1859 in Cincinnati. A daughter, Mrs. Nathan Loth, lives at 305 West End avenue, New York. A grand-daughter, Mrs. Sidney Geist, and two great-grandchildren, Sidney and. Jane Geist, also are residents of that city. They were visitors here today, joining the host of friends who came to felicitate the couple.
The Blumenthals conducted a general store in Pomeroy, Ohio, after their marriage, until it burned. They moved to Cincinnati, where Mr. Blumenthal entered the wholesale dry goods business in 1894. They retired in 1902.
Mr. Blumenthal probably is the oldest person ever to become the active executor of an estate, having been granted that authority over the estate of his son Joseph, who died December 26.
