Mrs. Sadie Freedman Annenberg, prominent Jewish philanthropist and widow of the millionaire publishing magnate, Moses L. Annenberg, died here yesterday at the age of 86. Mrs. Annenberg was honored Just last month by her eight children, each of whom contributed $1,000,000 toward the new Mount Sinai School of Medicine here.
Born in New York City, Sadie Cecillia Freedman, she was married to Mr. Annenberg in 1899. Her philanthropic activities included several gifts to the State of Israel, among them the Sadie C. Annenberg Soil and Irrigation Institute at Gilat near Beersheba. In 1962 her family presented in her honor a $1,000,000 gift to the Albert Einstein College of Medicine of Yeshiva University.
