Mrs. Louis D. Brandeis, wife of the late United States Supreme Court Justice and outstanding American Zionist, today disclosed that the use of her name on the list of sponsors of the American League for a League for a Free Palestine was “completely unauthorized.”
“I want to state categorically that I do not wish my name to be in any way associated with the American League for a Free Palestine or with the Hebrew Committee of National Liberation or any other group which is not a part of the recognized world Zionist organization and the Jewish Agency for Palestine. I believe that such organizations defeat the causes they purport to serve and I do not wish to be identified with any of them,” Mrs. Brandeis said in a open letter to Peter Bergson, head of the Hebrew Committee of National Liberation.
