The Israel Bond Organization reported here today that two weeks of appearances by Mrs. Levi Eshkol, wife of Israel’s Premier, in five major cities, produced nearly $3, 000, 000 in Israel bond sales.
Dr. Joseph J. Schwartz, Israel bond executive vice-president, hailed Mrs. Eshkol’s tour, declaring that her participation in launching the fall bond campaigns in New York, Chicago, Los Angeles, Detroit and Philadelphia “gave decisive stimulation to the Israel bond effort in communities which hold the key to success of our drive” in the United States. The campaign goal is $85, 000, 000.
Mrs. Eshkol, who arrived in this country on October 8, described to her audiences the human aspects of the growth of Israel. She is scheduled to return to Israel this weekend.
