Mrs. Tama Eshkol Shochat, daughter of Prime Minister Levi Eshkol of Israel, and the community organizer for Israel’s new desert development town of Arad, arrived in New York last night to undertake an intensive speaking tour of North America on behalf of the State of Israel Bond Organization. Mrs. Shochat is visiting America for the first time.
Following two years of military service and graduate studies in social work at the Hebrew University, Mrs. Shochat less than one year ago moved to the new desert development town of Arad. She serves as the Arad Authority’s community organizer, responsible for the integration of new settlers. Her husband, Avraham, is a civil engineer engaged in the planning of Arad’s first permanent housing development.
