Mrs. Henry Gerstley, member of a pioneer Chicago Jewish family, will celebrate her seventy-fifth birthday on Tuesday. She long has been recognized as one of the outstanding Jewish Women of Chicago and still is active in Jewish communal affairs.
She is the founder of the Chicago Woman’s Aid, which was started in 1882, as the Young Ladies’ Aid Society. It was formed to visit the patients of Jewish faith in then existing hospitals.
