Mrs. Henry Wineman, Detroit community leader active in Jewish and civic affairs, was presented here last night by the Jewish Welfare Federation with the 1962 Fred M. Butzel Memorial Award–the most coveted community honor of the year–in recognition of distinguished service to Jewish causes. The presentation was made at the annual dinner of the Federation.
The winner of the Butzel Award is selected by heads of the Federation agencies and previous award winners. Mrs. Wineman has been active for many years in the Allied Jewish Campaign, Hadassah, the Community Chest and in all major Jewish welfare movements. Her late husband, Henry Wineman, was the winner of the Butzel Award in 1952.
