Mrs. Julius Rosenwald died at 3.30 this afternoon, Chicago time, at her Ellis Avenue home, from cancer, from which she had been suffering for the last two years. Dr. Maurice Goodkind was in attendance.
With her at the end were her husband and their five children. A son, Lessing J. Rosenwald, is enroute to Chicago from Philadelphia, and a daughter, Mrs. Esther Stern, is on her way from New Orleans.
No arrangements have been made for the funeral.
Mrs. Rosenwald was born in Plattsburg, New York, on December 27, 1868. Prior to her marriage April 8, 1890, in Chicago to Mr. Rosenwald, she was Miss Augusta Nusbaum.
Shortly before her death her social service work was crowned with her election to the office of vice-president of the Girl Scouts of America, a distinction conferred at the same time on Mrs. Herbert Hoover.
