Mrs. Hortense Fuld Kessler of Orange, N. J., has been named president of the New Jersey Public Utilities Commission by Gov. Robert Meyner.
Mrs. Kessler, a lawyer, has been a member of the Commission since 1949, and has served as chairman of the Governor’s Committee on Youth and as a referee of the Essex County Domestic Relations and Juvenile Court. Active in Jewish affairs, she has been a leader of the Women’s Division of the United Jewish Appeal of Essex County, a member of the executive of the women’s division of the National Jewish Welfare Board and an active worker in numerous local Jewish groups.
