Glowing tribute to the memory of Mrs. Jacob H. Schiff, who died a year ago, was paid yesterday by Mrs. Rebekah Kohut. She told the Jewish Daily Bulletin that the wife of the late philanthropist always showed “real sympathy for everyone, especially the young people. She seemed to understand their problems and their needs.”
Mrs. Khut, who was a friend of Mrs. Schiff for more than twenty-five years, attended the memorial service held last Monday at the Jacob H. Schiff Centre, 2510 Valentine avenue, the Bronx, in which several hundred children took part. At the ceremony, in which Rabbi Alexander Basel officiated and Cantor isadore Doppelt sang a prayer of mourning, Mrs. Felix M. Warburg, daughter of Mrs. Schiff, spoke to the chidren about her mother.
