Mrs. Lea Ben Hur, wife of retired Gen. Aliyahu Ben Hur and herself a former officer in the Israeli Army, died in Safad yesterday at the age of 65. Mrs. Ben Hur, who served in British ATS units during World War II, later held the rank of major in Israel’s army, served as parliamentary secretary of the Mapam faction and also worked at the Israeli Consulate in Los Angeles. She and her husband moved to Kiryat Shemona six months ago to encourage the people of that border village that has been the target of terrorist attacks.
