Funeral services were held here today for Mrs. Miriam Lewin-Epstein Hershman, noted Hadassah leader, who died on Friday at the age of 68. She was the daughter of the late Elias and Judith Lewin-Epstein, Zionist pioneers who belonged to the BILU movement and were among the organizers of the Rehovoth settlement in Palestine.
Born in Warsaw, Poland, she was brought to Palestine at the age of 3 and remained there until she was 14. She is survived by her husband Dr. Abraham M. Hershman, rabbi emeritus of Congregation Shaarey Zedek here; two brothers, Hyman Lewin-Epstein of New York and Dr. Samuel Lewin-Epstein of Jerusalem; a son and two daughters.
