The funeral of Mrs. Pearl Manischewitz, wife of J. U. Manischewitz, president of B. Manischewitz Company, matzoth bakers, who died Monday evening in Beth Israel Hospital, took place yesterday afternoon at the Riverside Memorial Chapel. Mrs. Manischewitz was interred at the Mount Carmel Cemetery. Rabbi Finkelstein, of the Brooklyn Jewish Center, officiated at the funeral. Mrs. Manischewitz, who was 45 years old, had been ill for six weeks.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leo Quitman, she was born in Cincinnati. She was married to Mr. Manischewitz on August 29, 1909, and they moved to New York two years later when the company’s Jersey City plant was opened. Mrs. Manischewitz was active in Jewish philanthropic work and was a member of Hadassah. She is survived by her husband and two sons, Howard and Bernard.
