The tenth anniversary of the Jewish Braille Review was marked today over WJZ and other stations of the N.B.C. Red network, when Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt announced the winners of the magazine’s short story contest which just concluded.
The contest, which was open to all blind persons of every religion in the United States, South America and the British Empire, brought manuscripts from all countries ranging from Australia to Colombia. One of the stories was written in braille in a London air-raid shelter during a Nazi bombing of the city.
Messages congratulating the publication on its tenth anniversary have been received from Prof. Louis Finkelstein, Bishop William Manning, Dr. Julian Morgenstern, Edward G. Robinson, Thomas Mann, Lord Halifax and Governor Lehman.
