Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt today accepted the honorary chairmanship of the $25,000,000 national campaign to establish a nonsectarian Medical Center here under the sponsorship of Yeshiva University, it was announced by State Attorney General Nathaniel L. Goldstein, national chairman.
“Mrs. Roosevelt’s deep understanding of social problems and knowledge gained in a lifetime of humanitarian endeavor will aid immeasurably in developing first a College of Medicine and eventually an entire Medical Center, promising a new era of better medical care for our city, state and union,” Attorney General Goldstein said.
“We are indeed proud that Mrs. Roosevelt, who has devoted her entire life to the service of humanity, has recognized the significance of this great undertaking, the nation’s first non-sectarian Jewish-sponsored medical center, by accepting the role of honorary chairman,” he declared.
