Mrs. Eleanor Roosevelt, Henry Morgenthau Jr., Thomas Mann and Rabbi Stephen S. Wise are among the eighteen persons who will receive honorary degrees from the Hebrew Union College this Saturday, it was announced today. The degrees will be conferred by Dr. Julian Morgenstern, president of the college.
Others who will receive degrees ares Mrs. J. Walter Freiberg, honorary national president of National Federation of Temple Sisterhoods, Dr. Alexander Marx, librarian of the Jewish Theological Seminary in New York City, Prof. James Alan Mont gonery of the University of Pennsylvania faculty; Dr. Abrahan A. Neumann, president. of Dropsie College for Hebrew and Cognate Learning, Philadelphia; Dr, Abram Leon Sachar Washington, D.C., national director of the B’nai B’rith Hillel Foundations; Dr. Raymond Walters, president of the University of Cinoinnati; and Prof. Harry A. Wolfson, professor of Jewish Literature and Philosophy at Harvard University.
