Mrs. Franklin D. Roosevelt, as guest of honor, will make the principal address tomorrow night opening the 8th annual “Night of Stars,” which will be held at Madison Square Garden under the auspices of the United Jewish Appeal. Mrs. Roosevelt will stay for the four-hour entertainment following her speech and will be seated in the official box with the Mayor and Mr. Nathan Straus, chairman of the “Night of Stars.”
More than 300 noted stars of the stage, screen and radio will contribute their talents to the show, which will be under the direct supervision of Marvin Schenck of Loew’s, chairman of the production committee. According to Mr. Straus, it is expected that approximately $100,000 will be raised for refugee relief and Palestine resettlement work.
