N. E. B. Ezra, editor of Israel’s Messenger, published in Shanghai, has received a letter from Mrs. Sun Yat-Sen, wife of the late Dr. Sun Yat-Sen, father of the Chinese Republic, in her capacity as chairman of the China League for Civil Rights, which body protested to the Shanghai German Consulate against the atrocities against Jews and non-Jews in Germany committed by the Hitler government. Mrs. Sun wrote that her protest has been returned by the German Legation with the explanation that the so-called atrocities are falsehoods concocted by persons who, in consequence of the political changes in Germany, have had to forego certain political advantages. “The cold reply sent by the German Legation will not dishearten us,” Mrs. Sun Yat-Sen assured Mr. Ezra, “and we shall continue to work incessantly in unearthing the plots of persecution and oppression that are now going ### in Germany.”
