The appointment of Mrs. Walter E. Heller, Chicago, as chairman of the Jewish Center Division Committee of the National Jewish Welfare Board to succeed Philip M. Klutznick, also of Chicago, was announced today by Frank L. Weil, president of the J.W.B.
Mrs. Heller, who has been a member of the Jewish Center Division Committee since its inception in 1943, brings to her new post nearly two decades of service to the center movement. For the past five years she has served as chairman of the Division’s budget committee. For many years a volunteer worker with children at the Jewish People’s Institute, now part of the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago, Mrs. Heller is a former president of the Institute’s Women’s Auxiliary and is now a vice-president of the Jewish Community Centers of Chicago.
