Mrs. Felix M. Warburg and Mrs. George Cohen were the principal speakers on behalf of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies at the Minute Luncheon held Wednesday by the Great Neck group of the Women’s Division. It was attended by more than 100 women prominent in philanthropic activities. Mrs. Jerome I. Udell is chairman of the sponsoring group.
Mrs. Warburg stated that women are assuming a new position of importance in philanthropic work. The unusual conditions of the past four years have given them a keener conception of human misery and at the same time have stimulated them to take a more active part in the work of alleviating distress, she said.
The Women’s Division of the Federation campaign expects to raise half a million dollars. Mrs. Warburg and Mrs. Sidney C. Borg are chairmen of the campaign activities.
