Mt. Sinai Hospital in N. Y. Announces Multi-million Dollar Projects

Mount Sinai Hospital, which is planning to build a 23-story medical school at a cost of $55,000,000, has already obtained $15,000,000 of that sum in pledges, it was announced here last night by Gustave L. Levy, chairman of the hospital’s board of directors. The new undergraduate school is scheduled to be opened in 1968 and will be geared to graduating 96 physicians a year, beginning in 1972.

In addition to the construction of the school, the hospital, according to its officials, plans to raise a $5,000,000 endowment fund; has applied for $26,000,000 in Federal aid; and will spend $8,000,000 to $9,000,000 on self-supporting building like student dormitories, staff housing, a family lounge and a professional building.
