Another Jewish cemetery desecration was reported in a German city today as officials in Munich announced the arrest of a suspect in the desecration of 40 tombstones last week at the Jewish cemetery in that city. The suspect was identified as Christoph Seller, a laborer. The new incident took place in Munchen-Gladbach yesterday. Four gravestones were toppled. Police said it was the work of children.
In Hamburg, the City Council published today an album in memory of the city’s Jewish martyrs who died during the Nazi era. The names of 6,000 Hamburg Jews murdered by the Nazis are listed. The album also contains a list of the names of illustrious Jewish citizens of Hamburg through the ages.
