Jewish sources in the Soviet Union confirmed today that a 50-year-old Vilna Jew, Ilia Moisevich Serebreny, was murdered in his home last week. According to the sources, robbery appears to have been the sole motive. Serebreny had applied for a visa to go to Israel and the robbers may have been after the money he had saved for the trip, the sources said. No arrests were reported so far.
