Murray Zuckoff, a longtime JTA editor in chief, died Sunday in New York of lung cancer at age 79. Zuckoff served as JTA’s editor in chief from 1969 to 1987. In his own columns, he wrote about issues such as Israel, poverty, black-Jewish relations and the way Jewish issues are covered in the general media.
