Mystery today continued to surround the seizure yesterday by customs authorities here of four medium bombers allegedly destined for Palestine. The customs officials refused to disclose the identify of the owner of the twin-engined aircraft. The official reason for the seizure of the planes was given as failure by the owner to produce export licenses. “We know who owns the planes and we know that they don’t have export licenses,” supervising customs agent Chester A. Emerick said. The aircraft were shuttled here from Oklahoma and although the owner was listed as “Leonard Burns,” of California, the name was found to be fictitious.
