The National Council of Jewish Women honored today the memory of its late leader, Lucy Kaufmann-Broido, by dedicating its building here to her name. The building, located at 9 East 69th Street, houses the headquarters of the New York Section of the NCJW of which Mrs. Kaufmann-Broido was president for a number of years. She died on December 7, 1969 at her New York home. David Sher, noted Jewish leader, who was the principal speaker at the dedication ceremony, emphasized the deep interest which Mrs. Kaufmann-Broido maintained in Jewish communal affairs, her life-long commitment to the work of the NCJW, and her services to the community. Dr. David J. Seligman, spiritual leader of the Central Synagogue, conducted the ceremony. Mrs. Kaufmann-Broido was the wife of Louis Broido, chairman of the Joint Distribution Committee.
