The seventy-seventh birthday of the late Felix M. ##rg was marked here today by the presentation of a forty-six acre tract of land ## State of New York by Mr. and Mrs. James N. Rosenberg, friends of the noted ##anthropist. The land is to be used for park purposes under the Jurisdiction of Taconic State Park Commission, and may be developed as a children’s playground bear Mr. Werburg’s name.In making the gift, Mr. Rosenberg pointed out that “playgrounds for children among the many causes served by Mr. Warburg, who, he said, was a lover of nature, ##iend and servant to all his fellow men, one to whom there was but one race hu##ty.” He also emphasized the role played by Warburg in federating New York’s vast ##sh philanthropies, his leadership of the Joint Distribution Committee, his inter-in the YMHA, Educational Alliance, Hebrew University and many other Jewish and ##ral philanthropic and educational institutions.
The land, adjoining the Taconic State Parkway near Pinesbridge Road in the ## of New Castle, Westchester Country, was accepted for the State of New York by ##cis R. Masters, chairman of the Taconic State Park Commission. Mr. Masters applauded Mr. Warburg’s widespread public services and spoke particularly of his work children and for parks and parkways. Members of the Warburg family, including Felix M. Warburg, wore present at the presentation ceremony which took place in Rosenberg’s home.
