N. Y. City Council Asks That World Series Not Open on Yom Kippur

A resolution was unanimously passed by the City Council yesterday urging that the start of the world series be postponed from Oct. 1 to Oct. 2 because the scheduled opening date coincides with the Jewish holiday of Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.
