The Federation of Jewish Philanthropies of New York has set its 1950 campaign goal at $20,000,000, the largest fund it has ever sought for the operations of its 116 affiliated health and social service agencies, Ralph E. Camuel, Federation president, announced today at a press conference. The campaign will open officially on October 9.
Mr. Samuel said the campaign aims not only at continuing existing services which are provided to more than 480,000 New Yorkers annually, but also to begin to serve more persons by enabling the Federation’s institutions to make fuller use of their present services. “In agency after agency, there are waiting lists,” he said, characterizing the 1950 Federation effort as “a campaign against waiting lists.”
