Governor Nelson Rockefeller was asked today to order the New York State Commission Against Discrimination to abide by the ruling of New York Supreme Court Justice Henry Epstein prohibiting the Arabian-American Oil Company, ARAMCO, from practicing discrimination against Jews in hiring personnel.
The appeal to the Governor was made by the two Democratic minority leaders in both houses of the New York Legislature. Sen. Joseph Zaretski and Assemblyman Anthony Travia. The two legislators urged the Governor to instruct Elmer Carter, SCAD chairman, not to file any appeal against Judge Epstein’s ruling.
