The New York Federation of Jewish Philanthropies has decided that its delegates to the General Assembly of the Council of Jewish Federations and Welfare Funds “be instructed not to vote on the question of national budgeting,” it was reported here today by Ezra Shapiro, chairman of the Committee to Oppose National Budgeting.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the N.Y. Federation’s board, Shapiro said. “This action,” he pointed out, “is in consonance with the fact that agencies devoted entirely to meeting local needs will not be affected by the results of any decision made on national budgeting.”
