George Z. Medalie was re-elected last night president of the Federation for the Support of Jewish Philanthropic Societies of New York City at a meeting of the board of trustees of the federation. He is the fifth president of the organization to have been elected for three terms.
Joseph M. Proskauer, nominating committee chairman, paid warm tribute to Mr. Medalie’s years of leadership. Walter Rothschild was elected a vice-president and Henry March was named assistant treasurer. Other officers re-elected were Mrs. Sidney C. Borg. Monroe Goldwater and Mrs. Arthur Lehman, vice-presidents, Dr. Maurie B. Hexter and Joseph Willen, executive vice-presidents; Percy S. Straus, chairman of the board; Henry Ittleson, associate chairman of the board; Louis J. Grumbach, treasurer, Ralph E. Samuel, secretary, and Jacob M. Frankel, assistant secretary.
