A pledge to increase their support for the $99,521,275 national campaign of the United Jewish Appeal for 1955 was made here today at a meeting of the northern New York state leadership of the UJA. The pledge was announced by Jack Davis and Theodore A. Frankel of Lake Placid, conference co-chairman.
Chief speaker at today’s session was Dr. Carl Herman Voss, chairman of the executive council of the American Christian Palestine Committee, who said that peace in the Middle East is possible, but called on the American people to voice their desire for the Arab states and Israel to sit down and negotiate peace. No genuine conflict of interests exists between Israel and the Arab states, Dr. Voss asserted.
