A proposal to designate Feb. 19 as “Chaim Weitzman Day” in honor of the Israeli President was introduced in the State Legislature yesterday by Assemblyman Philip J, Schupler, of Brooklyn. A testimonial dinner in honor of Dr. Weitzman, at which President Truman will be present, will be held on that day at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York.
Schupler also recommended that the Legislature appoint a welcoming committee of state Senators and Assemblymen to extend official greetings to the Israeli President when he arrives in this country.
