A delegation from the New Zionist Organization asked Chancellor Kurt Schuschnigg today to empower the Austrian Consul-General in Jerusalem to obtain permission to establish a voluntary self-defence force for the duration of the Arab disturbances.

The delegation said in a memorandum that Austrians were endangered by the disorders. An Austrian Catholic, Karl Breitinger, was murdered in Jerusalem when mistaken for a Jew.
