The sharp increase in the price of narcotic drugs in Israel was attributed by police experts to police action. It seems that the success of the Israeli special squad formed to fight narcotics smugglers–an action which led to the discovery and destruction of large quantities of drugs of various kinds–caused a shortage of supply. As a result, prices skyrocketed.
